Head of Construction

Mr. Glen Iley serves as the Head of Construction at Merit Hill Capital. Mr. Iley has over 25 years of construction and facilities operations experience. He has served as the lead on numerous facility remodels and construction projects across the United States and Canada, while physically inspecting property conditions on a per property and per district basis to ensure safety, security, and facility standards are maintained.

Prior to joining Merit Hill Capital, Glen worked for Mini Mall Self Storage as Director of Construction & Facilities. Glen also previously worked at Extra Space Storage Inc. for three years as a Facilities Service Manager. He participated in the development of the annual facilities budget and five-year forecasting process. Glen chose and supervised vendors and contractors for projects and provided instruction on safety, security, and facility maintenance to operations staff. Working hand in hand with the Divisional Vice President and site staff, under direction of the Director of Facility Services, he supervised the successful execution of capital projects across 150+ stores ranging from $1,500 – $1+ MM. He has also managed ground up construction of storage facilities up to $25 MM.

Mr. Iley has also worked at the United States Naval Academy as Deputy Director of Facilities from 2003 to 2007, collaborating with his project team and key Naval Academy staff to oversee a $120 MM contract.

Mr. Iley attended Anne Arundel Community College earning a BA in Business Management, as well as Villanova University earning a PMP certification and Masters Contract Management Certificate. He also served in the United States Navy attending Electrical Distribution A & C schools.
